Join the One Million Seed Savers Campaign
In the last 100 years we've lost over 90% of the varieties that used to be available. Be part of the solution. Be a seed saver.

What's a Seed Lending Library?
Come to the Hall Middle School Seed Lending Library, located in the Hall library, and “borrow” seeds for free! You may be asking, “How can you ‘borrow’ seeds?” The basic is idea is that you plant the seeds, let some go to seed, then return some of these next generation seeds for others to borrow. (Don’t worry. We don’t have fines if you don’t return seeds.)
We encourage students and their parents to save seeds from the "super easy" plants: tomatoes, lettuce, beans, peas and peppers. (Some extra know-how needed for peppers.) Do not save seeds from plants in the "easy" or "difficult" drawer until you have more experience seed saving. When you save seeds, you have some for next season and the extras you can return to the library for others to borrow. Before you borrow seeds, you need to watch the orientation video. Students can check out seeds during the school day. Parents need to come after school hours. |
