Hall Middle School Seed Lending Library

In 2012, the Hall Middle School Seed Lending Library was created by a team of 6th graders as part of Ms. Newburn's Mission Sustainable Project. All groups had to choose something to make our campus more sustainable with the intention of creating a larger impact in the community. One team choice to create a seed library as a way to make our school and community more sustainable. They found the RichmondGrowsSeeds.org website (not knowing that it was their teacher's nonprofit website), followed the "How to Create a Seed Library" instructions, and gathered all the resources and successfully  launched it.

Over the years, different students have stepped in to be Seed Librarians to maintain it. Students can apply to be Seed Librarians and the position can last a year or throughout their time in middle school depending on their engagement.
